What is general psychology?
General psychology is a course about the behavior and mental activity of humans and animals. This course will cover psychology's history, methods, relationship to biology, sensation and perception, learning, memory, personality, psychological disorders, and therapy. Notice that your textbook includes many more topics in psychology: development, motivation & emotion, gender and sex, social, industrial organizational, and health. FYI, the Behavioral and Social Sciences department offers courses in developmental psychology, social psychology, industrial organizational psychology, and psychopathology. All of those are important. I don't cover them in general psychology because of lack of time.
